Childhood memories have sparked the taste buds. My crush & I have come up with a first for us and he has name it “The Manwich Pie”
We get the craving every few months and last time I prepared it with ground turkey. It was delicious but it just doesn’t satisfy the childhood cravings that we are both having.
So here goes nothing…
I prepared the Manwich as directed and then added- fresh garlic, mushrooms, worcestershire sauce, fresh cracked pepper, ground pepper and salt. While the mixture was simmering, I used flaky style biscuits, split the layers in half & layered them in a cast iron pot. Once done I poured the Manwich mixture on top of the biscuits. Then layer the mixture with gouda, munster & provolone cheeses. Return cast iron pot to 400 degree oven that the biscuits cooked in until cheese melts. Turn broiler to low setting & let cheese brown as desired.
The best part fresh basil, english thyme and italian oregano from the backyard to sprinkle on top of this deliciousness.
Bon Appetit,
Vetta 🦋
